Local Advocate Board

Our Local Advocate Board works as a sub-committee of the ACE Strategic Board. Hatch Beauchamp have combined their local governance arrangements to create the Small Schools Hub (SSH) working across three schools with Ashill Primary School and Winsham Primary School. Our advocates are volunteers who are elected or appointed by parents or the Board to ensure we deliver successful outcomes for our pupils by:

  • scrutinising strategy at local level

  • providing vital monitoring and reporting on Trust strategy

  • monitoring local stakeholder voice

  • acting as a source of challenge and support to the Headteacher

  • they monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making both academically and within its community

They meet as a Local Advocate Board 4 times per academic year including the annual ACE Governance Conference. You can find out more about the work of Local Advocates, what their remit is and how this contributes to the governance of our schools across ACE by visiting their website or by reading the Scheme of Delegation

We would be interested in hearing from you if you have time to dedicate to this rewarding role on behalf of our school. Please contact the school office.

Current Local Advocates are: Mrs Lucy Whiffin - Chair, Dr Jason Biswas, Ms Emma Johns (head teacher), Mr Tim Harnett, and Mrs Susan McKen.

For further details on advocates declaration of interest and attendance please visit the Ashill Primary School website.

Ethos Committee

As a Church of England school within the Academies for Character and Excellence (ACE), Hatch Beauchamp C of E Primary is a small village primary school.  Due to the size of the school there are insufficient volunteers to establish their own separate Ethos Committee.  Therefore, the work of the Ethos Committee will be included in remit of the Small Schools Hub (SSH) LAB.

Ethos Committee Members are:

Mrs Sue Mcken, Mrs Karen Lockyer, Mr Timothy Harnett and Mrs Emma Johns.

For further details on the Ethos Committee please contact the school office.
